Nightkill is one of those kind of thriller that you dont normally see now a days. Actually, it has a very interesting and original plot that will suck your brain up to the last minute. The first half hour is the so-called "routine" check like all other thrillers but the last half hour is a nail biter. This movie stars Jaclyn Smith, James Franciscus and veteran actor Robert Mitchum. This is also one of Jaclyn Smith's best performances. I mean, she's gorgeous in every angle, the camera just love her but she's also capable as a performer. Her shower scene is also the high point of this thriller -- see for yourself!This is a five (5) stars, thumbs up rating!!!! Cant wait to see a re-make. Brookside [VHS] Review

The show ran from 1982-2003 & told the story of the lives of the residents in Liverpool, England. The series was often topical with some of its themes centering on incest, rape, drug addiction & lesbianism to name but a few. Sadly, Brookside is highly underrated, but was a decent soap with viable & dramatic storylines & it is a shame there is no american DVD release of Brookside in any installment. It was finally done with Coronation Street, so dare we hope to see a U.S. offering of Brookie? Unfinished Business, is, I believe, the uncut very last installment of this show after its final episode was broadcast on UK's channel 4 (Brookside's former home). This is said to have tied up some of the loose ends not done in the television finale. Alexandra Fletcher (Jacqui Dixon Farnham) & Sarah White (Bev) are two of my very favorite actresses from this program(me).

I highly recommend this to Liverpool lovers & to those who can appreciate UK drama in serial form.

I loved this series when it aired on BBC2 about 3 years ago and although it only ran to 3 series it was sorely missed.

It may be a bit 'rude' for an american audience but if you liked AbFab, Spaced, Coupling or Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps then watch this and be prepared to laugh!

Evil Cult - Édition Limit� e Review

Jet Li plays Chang Mo Kei, a young fellow who was injured as a child by a life threatening Kung Fu move called the "Jinx Palm", which has made him weak and unable to learn Kung Fu. Plus on the same day his parents were both forced to commit suicide, which, as you might expect, was also no fun. Mo Kei is raised by his father's former master, a spry 100 year-old played with great aplomb by an unrecognizable, white-haired Sammo Hung, who also did a very good job as the fight choreographer for the film. The plotline is too complex to summarize, but needless to say Jet Li starts kicking ass and taking names pretty quickly. The film is of the fantastic Kung Fu variety, with people flying through the air, and using magical Kung Fu powers which put Jedi Knights and Neo to shame.

"The Evil Cult" has a variety of english titles and is based on a chinese martial arts novel which hasn't been translated to any western languages as far as I'm aware. It was supposed to be the first in a trilogy, but it didn't make enough money and so even though Jet Li, Sammo Hung, and the others involved fought to make them, it never came to pass. Apparently there have been some other films and TV Series made following the same story, but the most recent TV Series from 2003 hasn't made it to North America yet.

Still this first part of an incomplete saga is a great kung fu flick, primarily because of the incredibly quick pace, intricate plotline, bad humour, and non stop ass-kicking fun. It overwhelms the senses and if this type of flick is your cup of tea, I think you'll find this is as good as it gets. It seems to be a style of film you either get or you don't, so don't be put off by any bad reviews you see. This isn't Proust, but has its own virtues. If you like it, you likely be frustrated when it ends before resolving much of anything plot-wise, but just hold on, I'm sure they'll do a proper remake in ten years with genetic clones of the original cast or thereabouts. We'll see.

Street Fighter Alpha [VHS] Review

Street Fighter Alpha could have been a great movie but it has many things missing to make it great. The whole movie seems to be about Ryu which seems pretty good since he's the most popular and most played character throughout the Street Fighter Series. Ryu is beginning to become more evil which each fight he enters which is being caused by The Dark Hado (gets so mad that he goes insane) During the movie, a mysterious boy claims to be his brother and that where his Dark Hado begins to increase. There are a handful of Street Fighter Characters in the movie but that doesn't mean that they are all good. I was surprised that M. Bison wasn't there not even Sagat which his name was mention during the movie. The fights are pretty good and very bloody but there aren't that much fighting going around. Akuma did make an appearance but did not fight anyone unless you count the ending credits. But in all the animation is great and very smooth, the story is a bit dull but isn't that bad. It's just a bit sad that there aren't a lot of famous characters which could have made this movie better and more interesting. The DVD has 2 languages Japanese and English Dubbed w/ English subtitles. I'm surprised that the English version of SF was better than the Japanese version . All in all, this movie should be rented first and you decide if it's good enough to buy. Hope you agree with my comments.

My review is purely from a parent's perspective:I have twoboys, 9 and almost 11. They love Pokemon. They loved Ninja Turtles,Power Rangers, Star Wars, etc. so you know they are prone to being led by commercialism. Pokemon encourages nurturing, caring, and ideals like honesty, acceptance, and forgiveness. The good trainers protect and care for Pokemon. The bad guys exploit them and put their own selfish motives ahead of the Pokemon. The middle-can-be-turned-around characters learn from their mistakes and are forgiven by the main characters. Even Jessie and James occasionally show remorse and are treated with compassion.Do Pokemon battle? Yes. Unlike Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, and Star Wars, however, a Pokemon doesn't have to be hurt or killed to be defeated. Their weapons are inner strengths that they are born with. And no trainer worth his salt lets his Pokemon get injured. It's not hard to take the lessons from Pokemon and apply them to the reality of the child.It's like Beanie Babies -- I know they're making a fortune leading our kids around by the nose. But it's relatively benign and I watch every video with them to make sure nothing changes. On a long trip in the truck, I let them play the two CD's -- the music is actually very enjoyable for me (and I'm 46!) and contains no bad language.And I liked Pikachu's Vacation film much better than the actual Pokemon movie... but my boys loved both!
